We provide many options when ordering custom switch plates so please read, or at least skim through, this page before ordering. The most important option we provide is Magnetic Mounting. This is the best step you can take to ensure the safety of your switch plates once they are installed.

To get a quote call or email us with a list of the switchplates that you need, what type of stone you have, such as Granite, Marble, Silestone, etc., and if it is polished, honed, or tumbled. We will also need to know the size of tiles you are using, or the thickness of your slab. If possible, you may be able to choose material from our Stocked Stone list. We prefer to use customer supplied material for the best match.

PRICES

The switchplate styles we make are Toggle (T), Duplex (R), GFI/Rocker (D), Phone Jack (P), Cable Jack (C), and Blank (B) plates. Phone and Cable plates can have up to two phone and three cable jacks per gang and may be mixed. A diagram is shown below to help identify common switchplate styles. We are not limited to the configurations that are shown. We are able to make any switchplate configuration, up to a 6-Gang switchplate.

The switchplates below are 1- Gang to 6-Gang from left to right for the first three rows and random sizes for the bottom three rows.

For photos of some of the more unique switchplates that we have made click

here.

Since switchplates are symmetrical top to bottom they can be flipped. If you needed a GFI/Rocker on the left and a toggle on the right you could simply flip the TD switchplate.

Our switchplates are all made to the American Standard size. We do not make oversized switchplates. When finished, our switchplates are exactly 1/4" thick. The back sides of our switchplates are routered out so that the various switches and receptacles fit into the plate. This step is necessary so that the switchplate will fit flush against the wall.

Size Of Material Needed:

Finished Switchplate Sizes:
1- Gang: 4-3/4" x 3" 1- Gang: 4-1/2" x 2-3/4"
2- Gang: 4-3/4" x 4-7/8" 2- Gang: 4-1/2" x 4-9/16"
3- Gang: 4-3/4" x 6-5/8" 3- Gang: 4-1/2" x 6-3/8"
4- Gang: 4-3/4" x 8-1/2" 4- Gang: 4-1/2" x 8-3/16"
5- Gang: 4-3/4" x 10-1/4" 5- Gang: 4-1/2" x 10"
6 -Gang: 4-3/4" x 12" 6- Gang: 4-1/2" x 11-13/16"

The material we start with needs to be just over 1/4" thick and preferably under 1/2", maximum thickness is 3". Using the chart shown above, calculate the amount of material needed for your order and then double it. We are happy to use any scraps you may have but check for scratches or undesirable marks on the finished surface of your scraps. We can't polish out scratches but can try to cut around them when making your switchplates. We save any extra stone for one year marked with your name.

If there is direction in your stone, please indicate how your switch plates should be cut from it. If you want your switchplates cut from a specific spot in your stone, please draw it out on the backside of your stone. If you would prefer to mark the finished surface of your material, please use a tape that is easily removed and does not leave a sticky residue, such as 3M's Blue Painters tape. PLEASE DON'T EVER USE DUCT TAPE. Also be sure that we can make straight cuts through the tile or slab. For information on packing your material to send to us, go to our Packing Tips page.

  • The prices shown above are for customer supplied stone or stone that we stock.
  • We require payment in full prior to starting switchplate orders. We accept checks, credit card payments by phone and PayPal payments.
  • Our lead time is typically 2-3 weeks from the time we receive your stone and/or payment in full. When working with Honey Onyx our lead time may increase.
  • Color coordinated mounting screws are provided with all standard switchplates. The screw length is 1/2" for all switchplates. Phone, Cable, and Blank plates, are shipped with 1" screws.
  • We use penetrating epoxy to strengthen switchplates as necessary. The epoxy is applied to the back side only and does not show once the switchplate is installed.
  • We finish the radiused edges to match the natural finish of the stone, whether it is tumbled, honed, or polished. We do not dip them in anything or alter the natural look in any way.
  • Our switchplates are made to fit most fixtures with metal mounting tabs.
  • All switchplates are made to order and cannot be returned. Due to the characteristics of materials we use, we cannot guarantee our switchplates from breakage.

We recycle or reuse all newspaper, cardboard, plastic, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts.

Since ordering custom stone switchplates can create many questions we are more than happy to answer them by phone or e-mail.

If you would like to pay with PayPal, please email us and we will email you a PayPal invoice.
