Slate Switch Plates

Slate is generally an easy stone to work with but there are a few issues that may come up. The most common problem we encounter is that natural cleft slates have an uneven surface. This may pose the problem of finding areas flat enough to make switch plates from. If this describes your slate then pick your flattest tiles or send additional stone. I have added Quartzite stones to this page since they have many similarities to slate.
